‘Thanks for the Spanking Bro’- Thanasi Kokkinakis After His Defeat Against Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon Championships 2022

In a tennis masterclass from Novak Djokovic, he breezed past Australian tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round match of the Wimbledon Championships. Coming from a shaky first-round win, the Serb was in total control against his Australian Opponent.

Djokovic was imperious from the start of the game. The 35-year-old was striking the ball cleanly from deep and moved smoothly around the center court. It was one of the most complete performances from the Serb. Breaking the Aussie’s serve five times, Djokovic raced to a quick two-hour victory. Winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.

Even though it was a forgettable outing for the 26-year-old. He was graceful enough to laud his opponent. However, the way he did it was a bit funny. The Australian took to his Instagram account to congratulate Djokovic. Posting a picture from a match, he wrote,

Earlier, Djokovic also posted the same picture of them shaking hands after the match.

Notably, this is by far the best performance from the Aussie at Wimbledon. Earlier, he has played four times at Wimbledon. He reached the first round in two attempts, while he failed to qualify on the other two occasions.

Now that he made it to the second round, a match against someone like Djokovic will definitely give him a lot to learn from.

Novak Djokovic through to the third round

Continuing his brilliant run of form in the Wimbledon Championship, the 35-year-old has made it to the third round of the tournament. Although he was not at his best in the first-round match, the Serb took only one more match to his rhythm right. Compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic will be his next opponent.

The 22-year-old is having a good tournament and reached the third round after defeating Alejandro Tabilo of Chile in a four-set match.
